Born and raised in Mexico City, she grew up with her grandmother, who played a crucial part in her culinary development by awakening her curiosity about not only the sourcing and preparation of food, but by showing her that a meal, however simple, is able to bring a family together and cure whatever ails the soul, if for one instant. Most notably she has worked with Chef Mikel Slonso of Biko in Mexico City, Chefs Stephan Ilnckyj & Kenneth Foong, both of Betony in New York and Chefs Kristen Essig & Michael Stoltzfus of Coquette in New Orleans. Ana has spent the last few years at Coquette and became a Co-Sous Chef there.
